Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus

Neuropathy Care Center

Don’t let the pain and numbness of peripheral neuropathy rob you of a normal life.
Riverview HealthCare Campus is the only facility in Ottawa County that has the Anodyne® Therapy system. Anodyne® Therapy can be used to treat neuropathy, swelling, pain, wounds, stiff or frozen joints, and other similar conditions.

Why do we use Anodyne as a part of our comprehensive therapy program?
Anodyne® emits infrared photo energy to increase circulation and temporarily reduce pain in the area it is applied. It has been designed to maximize the effectiveness of infrared photo energy by using highly efficient light diodes placed in direct skin contact. Anodyne® feels warm and soothing and some say they feel some tingling and pulsing. This is normal as blood flow returns to the area. Some patients respond very quickly in our comprehensive program while others take longer based on their degree of impairment.

How do we begin caring for those with neuropathy?
We begin with an individual assessment of the functional difficulties you are experiencing. We ask you how you would like to improve, and then put together a specialized therapy program to help you meet your goals.

Will my pain be reduced?
Pain is often the first symptom to improve, while functional improvements may take more therapy. Several pain studies including over 1,000 patients have been done using Anodyne Therapy.

One study surveyed 252 patients with diabetes who had foot and leg pain. After receiving a comprehensive therapy program including Anodyne treatments, 87% reported a significant reduction in foot and leg pain.
