How does Cottage Cove differ from other nursing facilities?
Unlike most other facilities, our staff is specially trained in end of life care and pain management with excellent resident to staff ratios. Their main goal is to
help each resident achieve the best quality of life through pain and symptom management.
Located on Riverview's Campus, Cottage Cove has a separate entrance and existence from the nursing facility. The ten private home like suites have colored
linens, full pillows, television, DVD players, Internet access, sleeping accommodations for loved ones and numerous special touches.
You will find many amenities including cottage style dining and a cozy family room overlooking the river. Enjoy a private courtyard or a journey down to the
river along Centennial Lane to enjoy a sunny day. Cottage Cove is decorated with artwork by Thomas Kincaid™, “The Painter of Light”, to assure a soothing
atmosphere.
Is Palliative Care the same as Hospice Care?
Hospice services, a component of palliative care, are those provided compassionately when a disease is no longer responding to
treatment. The main objective then becomes coping with the physical, emotional and spiritual issues at the end of life. Palliative care also deals with managing the pain of a
chronic illness so a resident may return home with the tools to manage their pain more effectively.
Does Cottage Cove provide twenty-four hour nursing care?
Yes. Cottage Cove is staffed not only with permanent specially trained employees but we also have the support of the Hospice organizations that assist us in treating their patients.
Can I come on a short-term basis?
Yes. A resident may come to Cottage Cove to allow their caregiver a mental and emotional rest.
How do I pay for these services?
Services are most often covered, in full or part, by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans. However, the amount of money out-of-pocket can only be
determined by examining your personal situation. A personal consultation with our team members and a Hospice program if applicable can be set up to answer your specific financial questions.
Do I have to be a Hospice patient to qualify?
No. It is not required to be with a Hospice program to be a candidate for Cottage Cove. However, there is a specific criterion as determined by our interdisciplinary
team that must be met in order to be considered for Cottage Cove.
